Best Home Remedies for treating Acne
Acne is the most common skin condition wherein your skin pores get clogged with dead skin cells and excess of oil. Acne are generally accompanied with inflammation at its site. 1. Tea Tree Oil
The antimicrobial activity of tea tree essential oil is a great rescue for prevention of acne breakouts. Apply single drop of tea tree oil using a Q-tip only on the acne and leave it for overnight. Also using tea tree oil based face-wash regularly assists in no-acne breakouts in the future.

Apply pea size toothpaste directly onto the acne after washing your face with a mild face-wash. This will dry up your acne and absorb the excess of oil. This remedy works wonder for mild forms of acne. But avoid toothpaste that are designed for whitening purpose and do not contain hydrogen peroxide.
4. Turmeric
The anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties of turmeric are very popular in Ayurveda. You can simply mix in your face pack or mix a pinch of turmeric with water and apply it directly on the acne. Leave this mixture to dry and then rinse off with water. One should avoid using the turmeric that is available in the market as spices instead opt for the one which your mom prepare at home.

Apply aloe vera gel all over your face along with one drop of tea tree oil for 20 minutes and then rinse with water. This will not only soothe your skin but also treat the inflammation and redness.
6. Neem-clay face pack
Neem is famous for its antimicrobial properties, so using neem powder with clay works in reducing the acne from the base. This mixture should be applied as a face pack and left until dry. This face pack will cool down your skin, reduce inflammation and absorb excess of sebum production.

7. Honey and Cinnamon
Make a face-pack by mixing 1/4th of a tablespoon cinnamon powder with two tablespoon honey. Now, apply this pack on your face and neck for 30 minutes. Rinse it off with lukewarm water.
8. Lemon
Lemon is known for its astringent properties. So, just apply the lemon juice on the acne and leave it for overnight. You can also apply it during the daytime, but avoid stepping out in the sun, as it will tend to bleach your skin.
9. Ice cubes
Rubbing the acne with ice cube wrapped in a cotton soft cloth assists in soothing down the inflammation caused due to acne. The ice cubes also help in controlling the oil production. Green tea ice cubes will have the added benefits of astringent properties as well.

10. Garlic
Apply garlic juice mixed with equal amount of water on the acne directly and leave it for ten minutes. Rinse it off with water. Garlic is popular for its antibacterial properties. So, topical application of garlic juice helps in treating breakouts. But do not use it without mixing with water.
Use these remedies to get rid of mild acne and breakouts. But if this condition is severe, consult a dermatologist for proper checkup of your skin type, sensitivity and the reasons behind developing them. Over the counter solutions should be used only after prescription from a dermatologist.
